Welcome to the release of THAW

What happens when climate change stops being an abstract idea and becomes something you can stand on, touch, and feel?

In THAW, filmmaker Robin Danehav follows Swedish adventurer Oskar Kihlborg to Kebnekaise, where an unusual experiment takes place. A large wool blanket is placed on a glacier to slow the summer melt. It sounds simple. Almost ridiculous. And yet, it demands enormous effort.

What I thought would be a straightforward documentation turned into one of the hardest film projects I’ve ever done. Physically, mentally, and emotionally. Long days on the mountain. Exhaustion. Doubt. And a growing question I couldn’t let go of: does trying still matter, even when the impact feels small?

THAW is not a film about solutions. It’s a film about effort. About caring deeply enough to act, even when the outcome is uncertain. About putting yourself in situations where you’re not prepared, and letting that change you.

This premiere is an invitation to watch the film together, in the same room, on a big screen. To sit with the story. And if you feel like it, stay for a conversation afterward. Not about what we should do, but about what it means to try.

I hope you’ll join us.

The event will take place at Underverket coworking on 27 January from 18.00.

There will be some drinks, snacks, screening of the film (At 19.00) which is followed by a Q&A with Robin and Oskar.

The number of seats are limited - Let me know if you bring any additional guests.

If you’re not able to make it to Stockholm on this particular day, you can also watch it on Youtube at 8pm CET :)
