In the documentary "Underneath the Adventure" I follow Martin, a Swede who left the nine-to-five life to build his own resort on Gili Trawangan, a small island in Indonesia.
It took 13 years. Martin worked three jobs at once in Norway to pay for it without a loan. He carried building materials across the island by bicycle. And he fought some very deep personal battles along the way, including the loss of his father and the toll of a commitment that long.
It's a film about perseverance, passion and finding yourself. With all the highs and lows, it shows what it really means to follow a dream when the obstacles keep coming.
This film is No. 7 in 100 Documentaries. Read more on the film's own page: Underneath the Adventure.
